The Weekly Roast - Reasons Your Au Pair was fired
Episodes
The people we let into our homes. Good Lord.
There will come a time when these episode titles are going to affect our commercial appeal to advertisers. Nevertheless, we are committed to giving the people a platform to voice their woes. However, intimate.
Are you team couple or team Au Pair? Even if she is stealing, I am still fairly opposed to the bizarre practices by the family.
In a desperate attempt to edge my way into contention for the biggest media position in the country, it's time for an episode of Live Loon. We hear from the people of Ireland about their biggest problems and what is really enraging them about Ireland at the moment. From Teacher's strikes to light fingered Au Pair's, there is apparently no end to our suffering.
If you are a brand, PR or agency considering working with me in the future, please trust that this episode is not an example of the things I find funny. I am merely the vehicle for people to offload their perversion. Usually we give nice people weddings and interview legends xx @mehiganmark on Instagram
You people really are animals. Send in reccs here: https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
One of the more interesting conversations I've had. Really grateful to Loïc for this time. Trying to wrap your head around psychopathy is incredibly tough and at times I found myself taking an almost adversarial position without any reason other than my presumptions about what a psychopath thinks... Or something along those lines. Nevertheless, let us know below if you'd like Loïc to come back on and if you have any questions for him. It's a fascinating area of discussion I think.

ALSO - ANY TIPS REGARDING TODAY'S EP? (FORGIVE THE PUN). What do we think?
Probably the most fun we've ever had with a guest. For somebody who takes nutrition very seriously, Sophie is an unbelievably good sport and well able to endure a bit of roasting without taking it to heart. She is an absolute legend. But somehow, doesn't know what a spice bag is! Her new book is available everywhere and part two of her new doc is out next Monday on Rte One at 9:35pm.
That's curtains I think. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Aside from possessing the title of mid 90s rag you'd find ignored in your local GP'S waiting room, this shocking story was sent into us by a listener last week. More people are leading double lives in Ireland and dating apps have bizarrely made it easier. Although, I would have thought the opposite tbh? Nevertheless.. let us know if you've encountered similar.
When Destiny Ayo Vaughan was five years old, she narrowly avoided a forced childhood marriage with a men in his twenties, only to be trafficked into Ireland from Nigeria. She was subsequently abused by her own biological mother before being taken into care. Her story is one of bravery in the face of abject cruelty. Destiny has since created Mind The Gap - a platform for SA survivors to support each other. It was an honour to have her on the show and I will remember this conversation for the rest of my life. IMPORTANT - Destiny's story contains harrowing details her experiences of child abuse, so listeners should be mindful that this is not an easy listen at times. I think it's the most important conversation we've ever had on the show, but really worth letting you know in advance that some of these details are frightful and likely to evoke a very emotional reaction. To vote for Destiny to win Miss Ireland, you have to download this app. Aside from that being an insane inconvenience and ludicrous by whomever is running Miss Ireland, we do believe it's the least we can do to support Destiny. Let's help her bring it home guys. Download app here and vote for her. https://apps.apple.com/ie/app/mi-org/id1538581380
I feel fairly strongly about this. Interested to know what you all think. Some of the story has had to be removed in order to protect the identity of the caller and of course, the TD. The voice has been RADICALLY altered to avoid any accent detection. Any comments mentioning particular TDs or friends' identities will be sent into the abyss. Comments on the poo, more than welcome. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
This week is genuinely doing more for modern day insanity than those videos of people queueing to get into shopping centres on Black Friday. I can't decide which story is my favourite. Either way, all of the madness is forming a major part of the plans we have for December 13th... Any stories? Any suffering? Any roasts? Any thoughts? Hit me up: https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Genuinely not for the faint hearted. And we will say no more than that.
From farm to table, meat to mouth. It's the story for the man himself. We are extremely grateful to whoever it was that persuaded him to come on. THANK YOU! I wonder should we try to get them on a date? https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Nick Dunn was hired to accompany private ships on the most treacherous seas and protect them from Somali pirates. He never intended on becoming one of the the Chennai Six: a group of six men jailed in India for a crime they didn't commit. This episode may be triggering for those suffering with PTSD. I urge you to listen to the whole thing to fathom the enormity of Nick's pain and resilience.
Look, we've all ran into the arms of the nearest suitor to help quench the belly deep sadness and empty yearning for human connection after a break up. But these ones are particularly perverted. Share the show with a friend and don't forget to click follow for free eps every week!
Fancy a butchers? It's the perfect Meat Cute. I genuinely don't even know what to say about this one. Maybe it's a Dublin thing. Maybe it's a non meat for intercourse thing. I don't know... I just think it's totally insane.
Which of the new theme tunes is your favourite? Give us a shout with any interview requests. We've got some very exciting ones lined up for the Autumn... https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Liam A Brady is Ireland's leading professional private investigator. He's been in business for 51 years. He joined us in the studio yesterday with his wife and business partner, Annette. Two nicer people you could not meet. I have to caveat that some of the themes in this episode are very serious and contain details of predatory behaviour which may be triggering for some listeners. Let me know what you think and who you'd like us to interview next.
The secondhand cringe is real. Not to be confused of course, with the first hand cringe, which is also very real. Today is the day we recall some of your greatest most perverse attempts at locking lips whilst regaling some of our own romantic crash outs too. We are truly grateful to Mystery Mick for his unwavering joy and insouciance on the show. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Katriona O'Sullivan is an inspirational powerhouse and the bestselling author of Poor and Hungry. In this interview, we spoke about recovery, ADHD and self-acceptance. Katriona will be joining us in the Roast Office week, so let us know if you have any questions for round two. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
I wonder should we make this a reoccurring segment where we reunite a listener with a prized possession they lost over the years!? A full episode also may be needed on Road Rage incidents
Mikaila Cruz had just arrived into work in the World Trace Center, New York City on the 11th of September, 2001 when the first plane hit Tower One. She talks us through the details of what she witnessed that day and how she manages to live with the trauma. We are incredibly grateful to her for sharing her story with us.
Tenerife, elevenerife seemed too abstract for an episode title. Stay tuned for the news about December 13th. Give me a shout with any Qs. Really looking forward to it. What a year! https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Rob Lipsett is a Youtuber / Fitness Coach and one of the first Irish creators to make over a million swidgoes from the platform. In this chat we covered lots of ground - con artists in the coaching world, the impact of positive thinking, the theory of cringe until it's successful and many other topics. Let us know who you'd like us to chat to next. Check out Rob's Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/@RobLipsett
A fascinating insight into the culture and community of swinging in Ireland. Really grateful to 'Maria' for sharing some of her story with us. To be honest, I had never even considered how much of an outlet it must be for people in challenging circumstances. I learnt a lot from our chat. Long live communities that entirely exist to serve and protect their members! Pun unintended, of course. Who would you like me to sit down with next?
Even rock bottom has a trap door. The things you have all endured at music festivals are quite something. We also welcome the return of the most talked about contributor we've ever had on the show - the woman who had a threesome with her boss and the boss's husband.
This week Mark explores one of the sacred cows of Irish summer culture - the music festival. Submit your stories directly to Mark here: https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
In a genuinely bananas turn of events, one of our listeners does some private detective work and uncovers something that thickens the plot even further.
Now what?! Do we try and set up a honeytrap!?
AKA Mary Sloppins. Aka Nanny McPhraud. I genuinely have no words. Please get in touch with us if you have encountered this person on your search for childcare. It would appear she is most active on Facebook groups in the Dublin region. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
From the child who told the entire nursery she had seen her mother's 'beard on her bum' to the kids getting fed by the local Chinese - there is no end to the childhood absurdity in today's show. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
In June 2026, Jody Riley was contacted by her daughter's Créche to say that another child's grandad had 'accidentally' taken her daughter from the nursery. They said that once he realised his mistake he came back with the child. However, since then, Jody has been fighting relentlessly to find out who this person was and why the nursery seem to be protecting his identity. This is absolutely mental. Let us know if you have any questions or theories and we'll try get Jody back on. Mark travels to Edinburgh to meet Amanda Knox. They discuss Amanda's time in prison, the Netflix documentary, coping with trauma, her performances at the Fringe, meditation and stoicism. Tensions are high in the Roast Office as we record the first instalment of the community Whatsapp roast. Mark is devastatingly preoccupied with the Amanda Knox interview.
Mark discusses the baby clothing company he is building with Dr Afif El Khuffash. Himself and Michael also express their newfound appreciation for the sacrament of Baptism, after Mark's daughter's Christening.
In July of 2023, Rachel Waters was wrongfully accused of killing her own Mother. As her primary caregiver and the person who administered morphine from a hospice provided 'comfort care pack' in her final hours, Rachel was subsequently charged with murder in 2025. This is a terrifying story of injustice and grief. What happened to Rachel will never be forgotten but what she is doing now to prevent others from facing the same insane circumstances is truly inspiring. We wish her all the best with Marsha's Law. If you want to support Rachel like we do, throw her a few swidgos in her Go Fund Me here: https://gofund.me/0f8906bc9
Share an ep with a friend so your good deed for the week is done! Get involved in the roasts here. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
In what can only be described as a galactic leap forward for modern day intellectualism, today we are discussing whether or not your husband/wife's nieces and nephews are also your nieces and nephews. I know, it's giving Yuval Noah Harari vibes.
Today we are talking to one of the few media personalities in Ireland with an actual personality - Mr Alan Clarke. Discussing the historic win by Mayo, the perception of nepotism in the GAA, Ireland's mistrust of influencers and lots of other things. I think we might have to start a monthly special with Alan called "The Culchie Wars" where he roasts Dublin and vice versa. What do you think!? https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en https://www.instagram.com/alanclarkeofficial/?hl=en
By the title of the episode, you'd think it was about Mark. But no, today we're chatting to Keenan Acton. An inspiring young man who fell into a coma after competing in his first ever Hyrox event. We discuss overtraining, the culture of self betterment and the perspective shifts experienced after a life changing event. No matter what your story, I think you'll take something from this. His attitude is remarkable. If you could drop Keenan a follow on Instagram it would be great, he'd love to do his own podcast. https://www.instagram.com/keenan_acton/
Would you work in any of these places? I feel like the scamming couple require a deep dive. Any questions: https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Are we making the documentary?
Finally, straight from the horses mouth. Our caller answers your questions in what can only be described as GRAPHIC detail. https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
Part two of the most outrageous workplace romance story we have ever heard. Let us know your theories!
Not be confused with things you are afraid of. For example, sharks. Nevertheless, click follow to receive all these eps in your RSS feed every week. More roasts on Insta too! https://www.instagram.com/mehiganmark/?hl=en
This should be on Netflix. Click follow on the pod to make sure you get part two.
